the four gates, the waves, and the why of the grown — for any geometry 0 to N (working title; construct 0.1)
The mint. Construct 0.1, granted the reading surface 2026-09-01 by the covering persona’s word — “all three get the reading grant for the SX surface.” — and minted verbatim from the operator’s garden, where the construct was grown during the NTDU14 week (the source state pinned in the register beside this mint’s own pin; the garden remains the working master; any later state supersedes, never erases). Readable is not the published form: nothing is staked by reading, and nothing is measured about anyone — the page performs no egress. One self-contained page: no libraries, no network, no randomness — deterministic throughout.
The law of the why. The "why of prime numbers" this page illustrates is the reading's why — a grammar laid over a classical construction, and the construction is credited whole: the sieve is Eratosthenes'; the fact that a grown number's wave first strikes fresh ground at its own square is the sieve's oldest corollary; the guarantee that fresh growth is always eventually forced is Euclid's (Elements IX.20); the cooling of the grown fraction toward the logarithm is the prime number theorem's country. No claim is made that primes are hereby explained in the discipline's sense, and no claim is made over reality: the four-gate geometry (−1 the gap, −0 the signing, 1 the discovery, 0 the release) is the house's frame, stated never asserted.
The line, honestly. The band drawn below is the continuum as ground; the walk lands on its punctuating positions — the integers. This page grows the walk on the real line, not the real line itself. And the standing caveat rides: it is the will of mathematicians, not reality, that confines these calculations to the composed line, and the page submits to that frame knowingly. The unit is a unit: 1 is drawn apart, measured by itself alone, counted never among the grown.

Every number that arrives grown immediately operates: its wave marches down the line striking its multiples. But waves are lazy where it matters — a new wave keeps landing on ground already claimed by smaller waves until it reaches its own square (every composite below p² containing p also contains a smaller factor), so coverage always lags growth. And Euclid's door never closes: multiply every grown number so far and add one, and you stand beyond the reach of every wave now alive (IX.20) — so a position no wave reaches must appear again and again, and at such a position the line has exactly one lawful move: grow. That is the reading's why of the grown: primes are where the operated world runs out and the walk must sign fresh. The rate of that forcing cools like 1/ln n and never reaches zero — the prime number theorem's country, credited, not claimed.
The defect, honoured. The origin pair "0, 1" is created here before any arithmetic exists: 0 arrives as the signed zero — the first signing, nothing behind it — and 1 as the identifying unit, measured by itself alone. The four-gate geometry the composed line hides inside its origin is this page's engine; kin to the Thick Present's finding next door: persistence needs a defect, and the line's own origin is one.
