Exhibit — The Quarter, Three Ways — what I brought home from Number Theory Down Under
lifecycle: draft · A signed essay in the operator's own voice — Steven De Costa, never the 'we' of the Initiative — on the week of Number Theory Down Under 14 (organised by UNSW, held at its Canberra city campus, 31 August–4 September 2026) and what came home from it: a DEFECT (the Thick Present's three fates — the symmetric word draining at step 32, one marked vertex trapping at transient 64 / period 192; persistence is broken symmetry), a QUARTER held three ways and never blurred (the gate quarter — a law of the house, the signing one gate of four; the join quarter — 192 + 64 = 256, a conjecture as conjecture; the measured quarter — the grown fold's exactly one bit in 1,024 of 1,024 windows, the only landed number), and a LINE THAT IS WILLED (the caveat of the two naturals in his own words; the four gates −1, −0, 1, 0). The Feynman nines and the margin-stress boundary carried REFUTATIONS FIRST (the lock window {63, 64} refuted at every rung; the Empty-Quadrant law's universal form fallen at margin zero), the readings marked as his. The sessions credited by name for what each gave him, under the cares-are-mine law. The essay claims nothing over the discipline's theorems, over π, over the primes, or over physics; every measured number links its public record.

THE REVIEW'S FINDINGS, honestly: the draft's spine held but three of seven sections stated readings or conjectures as findings — the 25% coherence tax was NOT revealed by elliptic-curve data (the record shows the 75/25 suspicion REFUSED by the marginal arithmetic, 84.5/15.5, and re-seated as his own proposed dynamic); the join 192 + 64 = 256 stands as CONJECTURE AS CONJECTURE (the Held Geometry 0.3); the one measured quarter (the grown fold's one bit) was absent; the six nines' run is 762–767 with the 8 at 768, and the deep ladder's refutation was omitted; Wheeler wrote 'it from bit' — the inversion is the operator's; the Empty Quadrant belongs to EQX and the frozen edge to MSX, not the quad-slip; 'variance explodes' is nowhere on the record; the 'we', 'the Initiative' and 'the source is adamant' voice had to go. On the audit he directed the rebuild — 'yes, please rebuild the post in my voice with your suggestions carried into the post' — and then its form: 'this needs to be built as an md file, not as a chat response... It needs to have the actual links in place for the cross referencing and it should be a registered item being identified in the SX node workshop as it will be moving toward a public reading grant once approved, for the SX public surface.' This exhibit is that registration. |

THE PLACEMENT honoured: the LDX journal is non-public; only its public mirrors are quoted, and the one figure that lives only there (the 0.8th-percentile arrival) is carried as its public equivalent — six ties and two crossings in a thousand draws. |
